These bylaws serve as the guiding principles that govern the activities and decision-making processes of the association, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with the collective vision of the chapter.
The NHBE Alumni Association of SAE operates within a structured governance framework aimed at ensuring effective leadership and operations. At the top level, the Annual Business Meeting serves as the principal governing body, followed by the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who oversee strategic initiatives and decision-making.
The Board of Directors comprises key officers, including the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Director, Recruitment Director, and Immediate Past President, alongside up to six at-large members.

Founded on January 23rd, 2010, the NHBE Alumni Association of SAE is dedicated to elevating scholarship, education, and enriching chapter facilities. Upon inception, the association partnered with the chapter’s housing corporation, securing $5,000 in alumni donations earmarked for capital improvements. This crucial funding facilitated the transformation of the chapter room from a basic storage space into a vibrant hub conducive to fostering fraternity activities and brotherhood.
In addition to its focus on facilities enhancement, the association has been instrumental in organizing significant chapter events, including the Phoenix Chapter’s inaugural Founders Day celebration, Alumni Homecoming reunion, and Graduation Send-Off for the first graduating class of brothers since rechartering. These events have served to strengthen alumni engagement and foster a sense of pride and camaraderie among members.
Furthermore, the NHBE Alumni Association has made notable contributions to the chapter’s academic and historical legacy. One such contribution is the establishment of the Richard M. Hooker Memorial Library, a prestigious study space commemorating the chapter’s achievements and history. This library serves as a testament to the dedication and excellence of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at the University of New Hampshire.
Additionally, the association has instituted the chapter’s inaugural alumni awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to their professions and communities. Notable figures such as George B. Roberts Jr., former Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, have been honored with prestigious awards such as the Order of the Lion, further solidifying the chapter’s legacy of excellence and leadership.
